Injector PSI Question
I have a 383 with 30 # FMS injectors. I was running them at 50 psi, but at the track, my bud said I was smoking black down the track. I dropped it down to 45 psi (which seemed way more reasonable) and the smoke dissappeared.
Question: Was I drowning my motor at 50 psi, ( I think the answer is yes) and am I still doing it at 45? Should I be down to like 40 or so?
I don't have a recent dyno to give you.
I can tell you my track times, but they are very upsetting and I know my motor needs a huge tune.
I ran DD2000 and figured around 408 hp@ 5500 + 447 tq @ 3500.
I know that torque number is off, cuz I was over 400 ft. lbs tq at rear wheel on an old dyno run. ( before MSD 6AL, NGK TR6, 30 # inj., Taylor Spiro Pro)
Sadly enough, my best track time is only a 13.226 @ 105.391 (normalized to a 13.199 @ 105.59 as per 65Z01's site), with my first ever sub 2.0 60 ft. time of 1.971 on street tires.
I know more is in the car, I just need a tune as it's never really had one.
