Speedo problem for '91 L98 auto.

Speedo problem for '91 L98 auto.
I bought the vette in 2000. when speedo hits the 20mph and up, there are two digital lines which displays the correct number don't show up on the left number(2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, the top left of each of the numbers don't show)
After about a year, speedo began working fine. No problems with left numbers. Then after a couple weeks the left numbers started fading out again. Now it seems to go back and forth every three to four weeks. Must be a loose connection.
Any suggestions on what is causing this problem? Could it be a easy fix? Anyone out there with the same problem who got it repaired? :cool: :flag

My 91 just started a very similar condition ? The middle of LCD Screen does
not display correctly. It was just fine until the other day, when I started it up
after sitting a week that is when is started. The bottom of fuel bars do not
light and the top half of both speed odometer numbers same problem.
Car has just over 100,000 miles on it.
Had this car several months, have not been able to go for more than 3 weeks at a time without some type of problem......
Anyone had a similar problem(s) ? What did it take to fix ? [IMG][/IMG]

My 91 is experiencing some of the same problems. I'm probably going to send mine to united radio. They will rebuild it for $149.00. I was told that if they got it, and could not find a problem with it, they would send it back and it would only cost shipping.

I fixed my problems today !
At the Corvette club autocross, after one good HARD run through the course, I looked down at it and all the display problems were gone. Must have had a loose connection. If it does it again, now I know what it takes to get it working. A couple of runs up tp 6500 rpm through 1st and 2nd then a hard stop with a few turns and..... then repeat a couple more times...
