I got my Dr. Gas X pipe today from the friendly UPS man. It will go in tomorrow to replace my H pipe. This X pipe that Neal at Dr. Gas made me is a direct replacement for the B&B Triflow resonator. I am real curious to see if this is going to improve the exhaust note and if there will be any performance gains. It is of very good quality and if it does well I will remove it to have it coated later.
I forgot to mention that Neal was very fast to get this out to me. I ordered it on Friday and he built and shipped it on this last Tuesday! Using an Auto Cad drawing that I faxed him as a guide to build it.
I was thinking of having the same type of x-pipe installed in place of the resonator in my corsa system. I think my headers dumping into the xpipe and then the corsa rear mufflers would sound very nice!!
I love my Dr. Gas X pipe. The note took on an "exotic" sound. I think you'll like it. As for performance, it seemed to be a bit stronger at the bottom end, but who? Oh. BTW, it may try your patience a bit. I had to do a lot of of tweaking to get it into place.

Well the installation went well this morning. The car sounds a little different now. The resonance that was once there is toned down considerably. Its about half of what was there before or maybe better. The idle note has changed a little as well, it seems quieter.
The fit was perfect, Neal did a great job building this X pipe. There wasn't much perceivable power change. If there was a gain its on the top end, low end seems to have a bit more torque, breaking the tires loose seemed easier but it was never a problem anyway.....:)
The price was $195 not including freight which was $10 to my door here in Portland from their Sandy Utah location. Not bad considering that B&B wants $400 for their X pipe. Which is 304 Stainless but if you coat your aluminized pipe for an additional $60 or so there is still a considerable savings.
Yes, if you order your 3" LT1 system from B&B you can get it with the optional X pipe for the same price. If you want to buy it outright its $400 or if you purchase your B&B from another vendor such as Mid-America then you have to call them and make arrangements to exchange the resonator for the X pipe. I am not sure how their X Pipe is manufactured. And I wasn't sure if the X Pipe was going to work or not, that is why I chose to have one built so I could keep the resonator in case that the noise level was still objectionable.
