hi, does any one use a tech 1 scanner ,what is the difference between 1 and 1a?
is a autoxray the same thing?
I have seen some used ones on eBay for $200 or so.
I am looking to trouble shoot all systems including the sir
Thanks,Bob
I've been trying to buy a Tech 1 off Ebay for about a year now. If you can get one for $200, I'd jump all over it. AutoXray's can perform some of the functions of a Tech 1, but they are nowhere near as powerful. If you want to interface with all the different systems on a GM car, the Tech 1 is the way to go. AutoXray will only talk to the engine computer (so I've been told - my AutoXray will not work on my Corvette.) Also note that AutoXrays will not work with all year cars, despite what they say. 1986 is a problem year.

Re: tech 1 scanner???? (91whitevert)
91whitevert,
What SIR parameters are you interested in? Ease sells a personal GM OBD1 scan tool which scans and records all ECM/PCM data and DTCs. It has an upgrade module for GM OBD1 ABS & Air Bag scans.
The GM OBD1 scan tool is $315 and the ABS module is $145. I offer a 10% rebate to all CF members who order from me.
