Well today I found out I needed new shocks. I found this out while at a auto-x school. 1/2 way through the day my bushing in my drivers side rear shock let loose. So now I need new shocks.
The question is what shocks would be good for a daily driver/stock auto-x'er. I read a lot about the KBY's and I think I may go that route. But a lot of people say Bilsteins are the way to go.
IF the Bilsteins are that much better than the KBY's then I want to spend the money and get a good shock. I plan on keeping the car a while so I want to do it right the first time.
That or any suggestion on a nother comaprable shock. Like those Posi-control shocks on Mid America.
The autocross was awsome. My stock 86 never felt so fast. Is something I would like to get into and if I have to replace shocks might as well upgrade. I have sensa-tracks on it, they were there when I bought the car.
If your really going to get into it you might want Koni's or HAL QA1s. I have an 85 and just put the QA1s on (they are externally adjustable, unlike the Konis for early C4 years). Love the way they feel, made a huge difference on my times, almost more then race tires. They are pricy thought $130 per shock!
