Default Recognize this bolt?

It's a 13mm head, with 9.8 hardness stamped on it and is ~60mm long. I found it at the end of the driveway today.

I'm thinking it may be to somekind of bracket?

Does anyone recognize it?

The car didn't feel any different while driving today so I'm not even sure if it's from my car or not.

Check your battery hold down.

It belongs on your vette somewhere. Body panels.
Used like on fenders, and all on outside of the body. Save it.

Checked the brackets that hang down for the spare and all four bolts are there. Thanks for the guess though.

I was crawling around with a flashlight earlier and didn't see any missing bolts. The other 13mm bolts I saw were all for brackets such as the swaybar, or for bracing.

I'm hoping it's not from my car. :D Hopefully I can get it up in the air tomorrow and have a look see.

Radiator support? Since it doesn't have a blind (flat) end, then I believe it is one that requires one of those slider type of retainers. Check around the front bumper areas.

13mm is used everywhere on our cars. It looks like it might be a front shock bolt, but it's kind of long for that. Worth a check though. When I first saw it, the first thing that went through my head was crank bolt, but then I read the size.

Good luck

Chris

This is just a guess, but I think I saw one in the front of my car, down at the bottom where you always scrape if you pull in too far. It holds a tubular brace to a fixed mount. Sorry I dont have technical names for this stuff.

Look like the rear shock upper mount bolt to me. What were you doing when you found the bolt? Working on something? Found it in the garage? How do you know it came from your car?

I know! It's the bolt that holds the entire car together... if it falls out, get a new car!

:lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:

honestly, it sure looks familier... I just have no clue where it belongs... I do like the bumper idea, tho.

I was walking out to the street to pick up some trash that had floated down in the rain the other night and spotted the bolt. I have no idea wether it came from my car or not. I'm going to put the car up in the air this afternoon and see what I can find.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
