Will This Laptop Work With Winaldl ?
Looking at a compaq laptop to use with winaldl software.
It has a 486 processor,4mb ram and 200 mb hard drive.
It is running windows 3.1

Probably, but the big obstacle is; does it have the DB-9 connector on the back? Most older ones do, alot of newer ones dont. When you have to use a USB to DB-9 adapter things get tricky. Look for the 9 pin connector on the back- if its present your halfway there.

Compaq Contura 4/25 Laptop Computer. Computer features 486 processor 4mb ram, 200mb Hard drive, Floppy Drive 3 1/4, Serial, Parallel, PS/2 & external monitor ports, Screen 9 Inch , Battery is good but do not know how long it lasts, Laptop is running Win 3.1 and has Office installed.
I don't know but does this info tell you anything ?

It won't work with Windows 3.1 on it. Windows 3.1 is a 16-bit operating system and it appears taht WinALDL requires a 32-bit environment.
The good news is that Win95 will run on that machine. Although it won't be fast it'll run. If you can find a cheap upgrade to 16MB of RAM it'll be much nicer.

I used the same computer with win 95 and a 85 iroc. Worked fine except it would skip small packets of info. It was slow enough that it would get behind and skip to catch up. I just saved to hard and then to floppy and read it on my desk top.
