after a track session or 2 my power steering whines real bad. very noisy.
every thing works fine, but the whining is a sure indication of a problem to come. I havn't blow anyhoses like my fellow LT4 owners, but what is causing the whining?
I'm thinking if I go synthetic, it'll start to leak from the seals.
Try the cold climate PS fluid from GM, the C4 autox guys use it. I've been using it without problems or whine... Has to do with the additive package it contains. I'd order it from Jeff Kopp / Superior as its about $15 a pint at the local GM dealer. May be too late for your pump, how many miles?
20,000 miles on the car, and after the car cools off, the whine goes away.
it must be the fluid overheating, and the cooler is too small for the application.
I would think the cold climate stuff wouldn't be able to take the excessive heat
