Default 1989 - Question: How do I remove the passenger underdash cover?

All,

My problem is that the Bose Amp Relay is defective and needs to be replaced (speakers buzz w/ power off, amp does not shut off).

I was able to see the relay, by removing the center bezel and information pannel. It's well back, behind the left side of the "breadbox" just up and to the right of the radio.

I was able to have the buzzing stop by giving the relay a quick pop w/ a screwdriver :smash: , so I know I'm dealing w/ the right one.

So, The first plastic passenger side kick plate was easy to remove, but now I need to remove the carpeted section (knee protection).

I cannot find the retaining screws that hold this piece on.

Question: Have any of you done this? What do I need to do to remove this carpeted section?

Thanks all,

Vincent

Remove the top cover and it will be a snap to replace - two screws in the defroster bezel, 4 or 5 underneath, towards the front. Lift up and slide forward.
