Default surging idle in an 85
Hi & thanks for reading.
I got an 85 that runs ok cold but when warm surges badly from 450 to 950 rpm. I've disconnected the MAF & the Idle control solenoid & neither made a difference. ANY IDEAS?????????

Cheapest is try a new gas filter located on passenger side, door, at the frame.

I would spray the TB out with a cleaner and check the IAC motor. Vacuum leaks, Tune up..
