Engine ticking noise solved
I've only had the 88 for a few months and since I bought it there has been a ticking noise on the drivers side of the engine. I was concerned but the mechanic inspecting the car before purchase assured me that it was common, no need for alarm. And I have heard other L98s with the same RPM related ticking since then. Most people said lifter.
I finally replace wires this weekend and the ticking is gone. I'm surprised. I never saw a spark, the car ran very well, and all plugs looked the same when changed a few weeks ago.
If you have a similar problem, maybe this will help. Now I just have noisey injectors -- that I can live with.
