Default Which exhaust mod gives better performance?

1. Stock exhaust system WITHOUT CATS or resonator + Flowmaster.
OR
2. 2.5" exhaust system with CATS, resonator and Flowmaster.

or are they about the same?

Of course, this is hypothetical-- :p:

Well the stock exhaust on an LT1 car is 2 3/4 so it would probably perform better with no cats or resonator than would the smaller 2.5" with cats & resonator.

I guess that I forgot to mention that it's an 88 L98.

There's a local shop that was going to put a full dual 2.5" w/ H-pipe for $225. BUT--he is just using a normal pipe bender and I could tell that some of the bends would would go from 2.5 to probably 1.5 or 2---

What's the purpose of have a full 2.5 or 3" exhaust if at every bend, it's narrowed down so much? Too bad he doesn't have a mandrel bender.
