Default 700R4 Durability?

I've got a built 700R4 for my 89 C4. I'm aiming for 550HP and 500lbs of torque all in @ about 6500RPM's. Art Carr tells me the trans should live I'm kinda specticle about that. What do you guys think? Does shifting a 700R4 @ 6500 RPM increase the chances of damage as oppossed to 6000RPM? Or does RPM have nothing to do with it?

Just had my 700R rebuilt w/ upgrades & transgo kit installed. I had 125k on my vette when I did the rebuild. I am planning some major engine mods to my vette soon & I am not worried about the 700R (new tranny). If you have an old, ie- 100k plus stock 700R tranny, you may be in for an unexpected rebuild. I may have done things backwards, but I rebuilt the tranny, shift kit, & rearend gears 1st, before doing the engine mods. I don't want any probs. when I add the HP.
