Help please Backfiring
My car is backfiring just before it shifts to 2nd gear W.O.T. Leaving the car in drive shifting itsef . I have replaced the opti the plugs & wires. Had a scan tool on it its in perfect tune shows nothing is wrong . Could I be floating valves. this is gettin costly. Its a 92 LT1 Auto .

The scan tool, is it a Tech 1? Exactly how long ago did you replace the opti? Any plug wires touching the exhaust? Are you using AC DELCO Platinums? Hit any big puddles lately?

Dont know scan tool was used 2 differnt mechanics 2 diff scan tools read the same. Replaced the opti plugs & wires 1 month ago. I used all AC Delco parts. And i dont drive it in the rain. This is whats killing me. :confused: :mad
