Default raoidfire #1 or #5

i have a 91 vette with alumunium heads and i read somewhere that rapidfire number #5 is the plug to go with?? now i read on this forum that number #1 plugs are the ones for L98's if the tip of the plugs are white it's running lean??? so do i and more fuel just so they get a little tan??? also i gapped them at 40

#1's are for the iron heads (85-86.5 or so). As far as the lean condition, well, I'm not the best one to answer that question. I would think you should start with the correct plug and go from there...

Asked the same question and RapidFire #5 for Alum heads think gap is at 45.
Proper plug and gap in an AC Rapidfire for an 87 Vette is Rapidfire #5 gapped @ .045. Standard AC plug for 87 Vette is AC 41-629 gapped @ .035
