Re: Anyone with this Vortex Ram Air induction sysetm? (ld85)
I have it, but it was on the car when I bought it so I don't know any before and after numbers. Many will contend you can get comparable performance by doing the K&N and cut lid mod, but I am not sure.

I just finished installing this setup last weekend. It took me and a buddy 2-3hr, but to do it again would only take half the time.
The trick:
1st- put the air box where it's going to be mounted and trace around it.
2nd- Take off all the bolts on the front shroud (4-6 per side). Then remove the bolts that hold the bottom air dam piece (has the fan mounted on it). Pull the whole front shroud down through the bottom. Makes for easy cutting and and modifying using a die grinder with a cuttoff wheel---instead of using a little dremel tool with the shroud still on the car.
You can drill holes in the main air induction tube so that the you can use the original hold down '*****' from the original. Looks nice.
I went from a cut lid K&N to this unit and could tell a difference.

I would use the SLP one, or the TPIS version, not Vortex.
There have been several people with fitment problems with it.
But i suspect with your combo it might actually help.
