Three questions:

1- Where is the starter?
2- How do I access it?
3- Does anyone have a picture of where it is?

Thank you.

1- On the passenger side, between the motor and exhaust manifold.
2- My guess is from underneath the car. Not much room where it is mounted. Looks like a royal pain to replace.
Good luck...

The starter is not a big job if you do it correctly. I did mine last week in under a hour. Remove the positive battery cable. Jack the right front side, secure with jack stand and floor jack for extra safety. I believe the solenoid nut is 11/32, remove it first, be patient. The bolts for the starter are 9/16. I use a second smaller floor jack. Raise it to meet the starter and remove the positive battery cable nut, also 9/16. Remove the two 9/16 bolts, note one long and one short. . Note the solenoid has two connectors on it. The wire goes to the side marked S. When you install the starter, place it on the smaller jack and raise it until it meets the block. Line up your bolts and screw them in hand tight making sure you do not cross thread them. Place the battery cable and solenoid cable on and tighten. Check all you work carefully. Reconnect the positive battery cable. I own a 84 vette. If I missed anything maybe a member can chime in. I would pickup a manual, they come in handy. This is how I did mine, yours my be different. Confirm my installation before tackling the job. Good luck.
