Question, I have noticed here and there, when I pull out of my garage there will be a few drips of oil on the floor. I know it isnt the rear main seal because that was replaced when the tranny was.
I have been told that is could frrom the back of the intake manifold, because GM fixed the rear main seal problem by putting in a 1 pc seal instaed of a two pc.
Any ideas, and should I be wooried about it?
I feel your pain, I've battled a ton of oil leaks on my car. For the most part I've got them all fixed. I get one drop on my garage floor about every 3 weeks. That's slow enough for me!
Unfortunately it could be coming from anywhere. If you know it's not the rear main your other choices are.
Oil Pan Gasket
Timing Cover to Block Gasket
Crankshaft to Timing Cover Seal
Intake to Block Sealant
Dipstick Tube
Valve Cover Gaskets
And I'm sure there are a few more I'm forgetting about.
If it really bothers you that much you can buy a UV test light and some dye. You pour this stuff in your oil and run it for a little while. Then you get out the blacklight and see where it glows bright yellow.
