Hi, I'm no mechanic. I, bought 92 contv., low miles, ex cond. love the car, but have had stalling problems, hasn't thrown a code. I'm thinking of going ahead a getting a new dynaspark & water pump.? I, want to use the car as semi-daily driver, the car had 23,000 org miles and is stock. Anything else, I, should consider changing, plugs ,wires. etc. or anything ign. mod that wouldn't be too much and may correct the stalling. I, also have replaced the fuel pump and have new firehawk tires. thanks jim
Could be the IAC motor. They carbon up just like a spark plug and may not open as quickly as it should to keep the idle correct. Also a rough idle or stalling could be caused by carbon built up on the back of your throttle blades. An optispark will not necessarily cause a stall. Good luck..
:iagree: with both the above. These low mile cars are the biggest pieces of crap, I know because I bought a low mile '93 and my high miles 95 is 1000% better.

Frank, honestly, I think that's just a fluke. Maybe those low miles were beaten on or something, but most low-mileage cars are better than high mileage cars.
Remember, your Vette is 12 years old. Do you have a history of maintenance done on the Vette? My guess is that it is pretty much OEM. Your opti is not vented and storage is not good for the opti as rust can develope inside the unit (DUE TO CONDENSATION MOSTLY) and start the problems. I also have a 92 that had only 40k on it when I bought it. My problem was a small oil leak in the front of the engine which lead me to find a leak from the water pump (weep hole syndrome) which was getting my opti wet. For my own peace of mind, I replaced the opti with a new OEM opti and had it vented by the Corvette Clinic in Fla. Had to replace the water pump, but I went with a Meziere electric water pump which is so much better than the OEM one. Now, Dyno Tech Enginneering's DynaSpark seems to be the way to go. Oh, when I took my old Opti apart,   rust, coolant, and dirt inside! While you have it apart, replace the plugs and wires(they're 12 years old, too). See how easy it is to spend other peoples money? Bottom line: check everything else out first, your opti might be just fine, but really keep an eye on your water pump. The seal inside the pump (if original) is probably pretty hard by now.
