87 MAF Sensor ? Could this my stalling problem? Am I testing it correctly?
My car wants to stall when I come to a quick stop and surge / race when in Rev or N. But only when it is hot out or the humidity is high. Today I remember hearing that you can unhook you MAF sensor and the ECM will run off of default values. So I tried this and the car does not stall now where it was stalling just before disconnecting it. Now most of the time it harly even drops 1 - 2 hundred rpms, but sometimes it will. I have no codes though at least I didnt until I ran the car without the MAF but I understand that. Does this mean that my MAF sensor is BAD. You guys have helped me with this in the past and I am very thankful. Any opinions / suggestions you guys might have would be greatly appreciated. Here is what I have done/replaced so far in this ongoing saga. Cleaned TB & Plenum, replaced small vac lines, MAT sensor, EGR Valve, Plugs. Double checked for intake leaks. Setup Idle & TPS a millions times. I have recently bumped the idle up a bit and it did seem to help. Thanks in advance. :flag

Where are the MAF sensors located? Not having any problems, just wondering. Just replaced ECM and EPROM due to code 51 problems, but everyting working fine now... Knowledge is good...
