I thought hazing at my frat at college was bad! Those of you that said it is a one hour job, please share your secrets!! Jerkyboy was upside down, inside out, twisted, turned, you name it. This is cruel, very cruel. I got the pin out of the rod under the dash. I got the left side nut off. How do you get to the right side nut? It's almost over top of the steering column. I can't even get my hand up there. I read in the archives that people used a "wobble"? Is this tool only available from snap on? Anything else I can use?
Well I've never done it, but it doesn't look like it would be THAT bad. For your information what some people will call a wobbler or a wobble socket would simply be a universal joint or a socket with a universal on the end of it. If you don't have one of these in your tool box I'm not sure how you can do anything on your vette.
Any company that makes ratchets and sockets will also have a universal.
Nathan, from the snap on website, a wobbler looks like a small diameter long extension that has the ability to bend. I've got universals but they are not giving me the control I need to get way up and back and around in there.
I've seen the flexible extensions you mention. They can also be had at places other than snap on. I've got one, but I've honestly never had a need for it. I can always get what I need with the right combinations of universals and extensions.
