Extrude Hone.......Anybody have personal experience????
I'd like to get a little more out of my Superram if I could. It's been handworked pretty extensively and now flows 278.5 on a local bench, but I'd really like to get another few CFMs out of it.......maybe push 285/290 if I could. My heads are AFR 195s and are at 292, so if I can get within spittin' distance, I'd be a happy camper.
Has anybody used Extrude Hone in Pa. or Ca.? I sent them an e-mail to both locations 3 or 4 weeks ago and haven't received a reply, I'm wondering if doing a single intake is a little too small a job for them
Is anybody aware of another company that does the same process who might be a little more responsive to a customer? Or maybe the name of a contact at Extrude Hone that will actually be helpful?
TIA guys, this is pretty much the last order of business before the motor starts to go together
Re: Extrude Hone.......Anybody have personal experience???? (Caboboy)
I'm sure the job will not be too small for them. My SuperRam was given the Extrude-Hone process out in California, though I have no clue yet as to what it flows. There's a stroker motor in my future, so I'll be determining the flow rate of this particular SR once we pull the top end off.
My SR was sent to Extrude Hone by the previous owner so I don't have any direct contact info for them, or the name of any employees you might contact. Try to find a phone number and just ring it off the hook untilsomeone answers. Leave a message that you have a large order you want them to fill. Whatever gets them on the phone I guess! :) At least then you can get some answers to your questions.
I'll look around for an old Summit Racing mag that I kept which showcased Extrude Hone in a small three page article. Maybe there is some useful contact info in there.
Re: Extrude Hone.......Anybody have personal experience???? (ROME)
Tim,, I contacted a local guy that will hand port mine, if you are in no hurry then I may have results after he is done in @ 1 month. He said $250 to $350 max to get me close to 300CFM,,, I have already been told this wont likley happen but I will see what he ends up with and post the numbers. If I cant flow more for my 215 CC heads I will go to 190's

I didn't know your motor was apart. What happened? Details on the new set-up? Inquiring minds want to know.
I think EH wanted $650.00 to do my superram. That was a year or two ago. I didn't do it.
