stay away from either, really... Lincoln's are an electronics nightmare. Caddy's are much better, but gee... they don't drive or handle anything like what you are used to.
Damn Jon! What happened? Obviously you are OK if you are posting about it.
What's wrong with another vette? But if you want something a little more practical, a pick up truck is always a safe bet, or even something like a Tahoe/Yukon.
Then again, Impala SS would be nice, they are not too high priced yet.
I had a Lincoln Mark8 for a while. Nice car, fast, and handled great. They have the Intech all aluminum V8 that the 96-01 Cobras have. Pluses were coupe body, excellent style, loaded to the hilt, V8 RWD, good handling. Negatives were complex electronics and overly high-tech suspension. Both are big money when thay go wrong.
My votes for family cars to consider would be:
Impala SS
Mercury Maurader
the new GTO.
I drove my 1993 Grand Marquis for 250,000 miles in Florida for my sales job. Excellent ride, same chassis as the Lincoln or used to be, and lots of room for awesome stereo stuff.
The Marauder has some performance and the cushy ride/stuff,,, juts leave off the
What's your budget? New or used? If I couldn't have a Vette I'd want something fun that used less fuel like a MINI Cooper S (w/ 200hp JC Works kit), or Soob WRX STi.
