Greetings!, I have a 89 corvette that I'd like to be able to scan with my laptop. The problem, no serial port, just USB. Has anyone out there come up with a way to sucessfully interface with the OBD-I with USB? I know there are USB to serial converters out there, but I have also heard that the car won't talk through them. The more details you have on your system that works the better.

Re: USB scanning (SkipI)
Ease sells OBD1 laptop based scan tools and their tool works with USB->serial cables. They sell their own cable guaranteed to work or your money back. However, the Ease tech support folks have told me that the Radio Shack cable is just as good as their cable and cheaper, so I recommend it.
Lots of guys here at CF use the Ease scan tool. If you are interested in the Ease OBD1 scan tool email me directly and I'll get you 10% off the retail price.
