Hi guys, I was thinking of fixing up the interior one of these days.
I pretty much know what to do with every thing except the carpet
Should I buy the aftermarket packages that they sell for the carpet, or should I go buy some carpet fabric and just cut up the patterns myself, or is it better to order the kit?
My carpet was really bad, so i did it cheap with the roll to get by, just glued it to the old carpet to get by, then watch and bid ebay and finally got good with matt back and replaced it all... definatly much better with complete carpet replacement....
Because our cars has alot of stumps, curves and bumps in the carpet,Id get the kit.I bought a replacement carpet Kit a few years back and it fit nearly perfectly with some trimming and needed to glue the side carpeting to the console panels.
Wasnt a hard job at all.I cant imagine doing a good job with basic store carpeting you can buy elsewhere in rolls and making the proper shapes in various areas to make it look good. However,Maybe someone has done so that way but havent seen that yet.
Having a good fitting carpet that seats good and looks better than factory is a plus.Mass backing carpet is the best and holds up its shape for a long time.
However,if youre handy enough, you may be able to customize your inside with store bought materials.Never say never eh?
Yeah, that what I though... I'll just buy a kit "one of these days"
