Default Thread Size For Tapping Intake/Head holes?

I have my intake off my 86 and need to clean and tap the threads out a bit and I cant remember what the tap size is.I cant find my old tools anywhere so I may have to go buy new pieces.If it helps,its the aluminum heads.

Do you mean the intake manifold bolt holes in the cylinder head? If so those are 3/8 x 16 NC bolts.

Yes,those bolt holes.Thanks for the info.I found a few thread taps in the tool box and may have something just yet.

Bill: Be sure and coat the tap with lubricant (WD 40 is good) before you clean out the threads of each hole. Do not damage the threads or you will be looking for a Helicoil kit.......experience talking!!!

Thanks Sam,WD40 is always in my garage cabinet and has never let me down.
So far Ive been lucky,the gunk in the thread holes have come out with some cleaning and the threads look excellent.Looks like everythings going smoothly this time around.
