I am having a leak right where the pressure line attaches to the pump, seems to bubble out from around the line where it passes through the threaded fitting, I pulled the pulley and the pressure line off the pump and checked the connection, it seems fine but maybe I can't see the faults, I thought maybe it was just a little loose so I tightened it up and put it all back together and guess what.... leaked just like before and definitely from that fitting :mad
Does any one have any ideas? I am sure I got it tight!
I know a guy who just had this 2 times. He said overtightening the fitting cracks/splits the metal. It's an o ring that does the sealing. Hard to get replacement (he said).
The first time mine broke there you could see the crack. The second time you couldn't, but when you turned the wheel it would seep out. I replaced it with a GM hose the first time so the second one was covered under warranty.
Mine cracked each time during agressive auto-x events. One thing I noticed is the clamp was missing that suports the hose to the idler pulley bracket (think it's on 95-96 cars) and caused the hose to flex and crack.
I had trouble with mine. The fix was a hose from Carquest.
Dont know what the difference is but I had a heck of a time with it.
I tried Napa twice.GM once. And carquest was the only one that didnt leak.
I spent all morning and not one parts house has the pressure line! :mad
Everyone says that it is a week out, it seems hard to believe that the line that fits 3 or 4 years worth of C-4s would be not avail, I guess I will be waiting for awhile :cuss
It took 2 weeks to get my first one from GM (backordered) the second took a few days. My buddy got his from Parts America and I think they took 2 days each time he replaced his.
