Default Brake Clunk

A few weeks ago I began to notice a clunk coming from the front passenger side wheel when I was leaving a stop. I parked the car for a while when I was out of town, and finally got around to looking at it tonight. When I lift the hood and inspect, everything looks visually ok, but if I reach down to the brake assembly, the one on the driver side is rock hard, but the passenger side moves a little. It makes a similar noise to what I would expect when a brake clamped onto a rotor breaks loose when you start moving again. I checked the bolts and they are both tight, what causes the assembly to have play in it? It doesn't appear to be a safety issue, but it gets annoying....

Thanks in advance

Check the retaining pin to see if it's still in good shape.

:iagree: These are 'supposed' to be replaced with each brake job. Most of us don't because our aftermarket pads to not include new pins. When they make noise, you replace them and the retaining clips, washers too.
Recheck the torque on your caliper bolts. Should be about 120ftlbs, but I might be wrong on that one so double check my numbers please.
