Default LT1 Hotcam Kit

I'm making my own any comments and opinions are welcome

Comp Cams Pro Magnum 1.6 Roller Rockers (self aligning?)
New Valve springs, Seats, Retainers, Locks
Comp Cams 7/16" Studs
Chromemoly Pushrods
Comp Cams Pro Magnum Hydraulic Lifters

Camshaft is up in the air, I am thnking an LT4 Hotcam, Comp Cam 305, but my knowledge of camshafts is somewhat limited.

Also can I put thinner head gaskets on to raise compression?

How's all this sound am I missing anything, any predictions?

Thanks in advance

Just put in a comp 305 & love it. Going to feel ALL the difference when I get it back from the gear shop (2:59's to 3:54's). You might want to consider a couple more things though to bring the cam alive. Your cam decision should be made on how far you are going to go. Like I said...I did the Comp 305 along with 1.6 Roller Rockers, 52mm throttle body, cold air intake, headers, 30# fuel injectors, adjustable fuel pres reg., Borla exhaust, and it's in the shop for the gears.

If you plan on going through more that that, you might want to consider more cam. Again, it's the combination of all the (small) things that make the cam come alive.

Then...when you are done with the work, you'll need to have an LT1 Edit done on your computer to "tune" and make it all work.

From what I have read about TPIS quality on here I wouldn't spend the extra funds for that cam. I'd get the 219 from Lingenfelter first, CC cams second. But I will be doing the Hot Cam as well because it is under $200 and makes decent power for a daily driven engine like mine.
