>>the oil filter adaptor is not that hard... what is hard is removing that damned gasket that turns to concrete.
I had to hit it with a wire brush to burn it off... and it still took 30 minutes!!!!!!
<<

did the old gasket stick to the block or adaptor?

Bogus....What'd you think about those 4 little plastic clips to hold up the pan & gasket while you got everything in position? I thought it was a total life (insanity) saver & again...I can't believe that I've never seen these things before!

they did help. No question.

However, cause I was stupid and didn't remove the braces, I snipped them down to fit in the space a bit easier.

I just did my oil pan gasket and rear main seal. To clean that oil filter adapter gasket I used my die grinder with scotch loc discs. They are little scotch brite discs that go on an adapter in the die grinder. The don't remove any metal. I hit all gasket surfaces with these, can't live without them.

I used a wire wheel on a die grinder. Still took forever...

the leak in mine is on the rear main... but that requires a tranny removal... guess what - I ain't doing it.
