I recently purchased a 95 coupe and I wasn't sure if the shocks are stock or not. It has Bilsteins and they ride pretty hard. Would you recommend changing to the edelbrock performers? I've read a few reviews and they sound to good to be true.
Hey, another local Phoenician  Yep, I believe the '95 has Bilsteins from the factory. You say they ride hard ... if you've got the Z51 option (handling package), then you can blame the stiffer springs for the harder ride. That's a good thing, because that means it handles nicer around corners. The Z51 option also greatly reduces chassis shimmy when the top is off (I'm assuming you've got a coupe ?). My previous LT4 car had the base suspension, and the shake with the top off was much worse than what I get with my Z51 cars.
I don't know anything about the Edelbrock shocks. However, the Koni Sport adjustables are considered a great choice if you are autocrossing. That'll be my next purchase for my '89 coupe.
Good luck ...
[Edited later: duh, you *did* say that you had a coupe. Guess I need to learn how to read :)
They did not make an Z51 option in 95.Sounds like you have the base suspension. You got some of the best shocks made (Bilsteins), What is the tire pressure you are using -sounds like you should be using 29-30 and 35 for hi-speed driving. Maybe that will help. 95 was a pretty soft riding car-hard to beleive you think it rides hard. I am getting the HD Bilsteins for my 95.
