Bogus...What if I remove the radio & run all new wiring for it? that sounds like a fine idea....original wiring in a near 20 year old car, some of it could be frayed or chafed.
nice when you can almost solve your own problem eh?
Even though my mechanic says its not the starter I BELIEVE that it is. If my starter was bad would jumping the cylonoid with a screwdriver be possible? My mechanic says if I can jump the cylonoid that the starter is not the problem? :skep:
your mechanic could be right about the starter. it is probably a bad solenoid not a bad starter. also you may have more than one problem. i would still check out that radio circuit. if you don't fix that , you could have an electrical fire and lose the car.

I am gonna check the radio circut....but if I change the starter it might solve the problem?
I think your mechanic gave you some good advice. Next time the problem hapens put a test light on the purple starter wire and see if you are geting 12V. If you are then it is the starter if not the problem. You have a lot of diferent electrical problem ocuring and probably have a wire shorted some where. I am wundering about the new colum you installed, how long after you installed it did your problems start?
