Help With Y Pipe
I need to replace the Y pipe on my 90. It has some pinholes in it. I was going to order the one with the cross over. My question is do you think the mufflers will come off the old Y pipe? They look like they are in good shape and I don’t want order new ones if I don’t need to.

I just completed installing a new rear Y-pipe, with the crossover tube, and mufflers on my 89. Unfortunately the shop had to do a little bit of trimming of the ends of the Y-pipes to have the mufflers align and fit correctly. I do not know if the Y-pipe was off spec or if the mufflers were. It added a day and about $90 in shop costs to do it. The crossover did reduce (but NOT eliminate) interior resonance. Good luck.

If you are doing the 'Y' you might as well get the mufflers while you are under there. If you go with OEM type replacements you won't have to spend that much. I think mine were about $70 each from TLD.
