Listen, I am going to change out the EGR valve this weekend for the first time,,, Because of code 32....... Anything I should know about this before I get into it,,, Anything else I should replace while I have everything off? What kind of a job am I looking at?????????
I plan on cleaning the plenum and runners while they are off ,,,, but if anyone has any other ideas let me know,,, Got the money if needed,,, nothing big though
How many miles on the car? Do you want to buy new intake or anything like that? I am suprised the EGR went bad. Check your injectors. Adjustable Fuel pressure regulator. Get a larger throttle body.
I have some EGR work that needs to be done, also. The valve itself is opening and closing at random - I can hear it playing taps when the engine starts to warm up, and it doesn't stop. From info here on the forum, make sure you clean out the hole into the intake manifold, as this can accumulate crud buildup. That may be the problem, as with mine, but I'm replacing the whole thing. Also, when I ported my plenum I didn't port the EGR opening to the runner. I will do that this time. I have no codes, but this problem surfaced after installing new injectors and an AFPR. Also, MAD sells a kit to move the EGR switch (solenoid) or something like that? It is cheap (like $12 I think), so I may also try that. Good Luck, and any troubles, let us know. :seeya
what and where is the EGR switch (solenoid)
Ok, I got a sode of 32,, so that means the EGR is bad right,,,, should I check other things before I get into this????????????? If so what and where the heck are they
