Several people have asked for pics of my Exotic Muscle roll bar set-up.. I finally took some pictures of the basic 4-point assembly and the way the removable front diagonal works. :flag Paul
I am more interested in seeing the picture of your convertible setup.
I have seen your pictures before yo posted, but really need to see one looking at the rear of the car with the top down obviously.
i want to see how wide the bar goes before it comes down.
The bars that dont go the full width of the seating area and come down in the middle of the seat back instead of the outside of each seatback look ghetto to me. IMHO.
The ones that go out the full width of both seating areas and come down on the seat back outsides look sweet to me. (They are still bolted in the usual place and do not touch the seatbacks).
1. Jesse - The diagonal brace satisfies NCCC requirements for RP (Race Prepared) class - "Roll bar MUST be front AND rear braced in Race Prepared Class."
** Note, Jesse burned the chip in my '809 coupe - when you need one, he's the man :hurray:
2. Yoslambo1 - It definitely stiffens a Vette because it's bolted to mounting plates welded to the frame so it reduces side-to-side and fore-aft flex tremendously. In my coupe, I also added a roadster X-brace & a R-DRacing Camber Brace. So, it's pretty stiff.
3. Z-PDX - I've had friends ride on the track with this set-up in both my '89 coupe and my '96 roadster many times for 20-minute and up sessions. A 6'3" guy rode there with no problems. They just have to ovecome the initial claustrophobia. Actually, it's a great place for a passenger to hang on. The GF has ridden in it all the way to CA for races several times (I pull a tire trailer). She does like her 98 Indy Pace Car better though - but it's so slow.....
4. dizwiz24 - I promise to post roadster pics. The car is in the shop again - bad year - motor, then diff, now tranny. ZF problems (broken tooth on reverse gear - I have no clue - tore up 3rd and the counter balance shaft + misc. bearings, etc.) forcing trans rebuild. It should be back in 2 weeks.
