Theres nothing like driving a twin turbo Vette. Although I never had.

Figure this out on an LT-1. We need to do it to stay competitive with the big dogs.

Defitnetly the way to go! I'm putting together a 406 N/A with juice and I almost sold the pistons and headers to go turbocharged. I got 2 turbos, intercooler and wastegates priced out ($2000), but I'll have to finish the N/A project and then start from scratch. A good set-up should at least make 700-800hp and it's not to hard to make 1000hp+. That'll really keep all of us ahead of the pack! No comp! I know a guy here in NY with a single turbo 96 C4 SBC that goes 178mph! On a 10" slick 8's w/D44, but that's gone now in favor of a Fab 9". you can actually drive this thing around if you wanted too no problem! If you can afford it do it!

I see it's been a while since the last post, but I hope someone's still listening.

Hi, all. I'm new to the forum, and am mighty glad to be here! I'm the very proud owner of a fine specimen in black from 1986. She's brought me cross country from the Pacific coast to the Gulf coast, through the warm south to the frozen north, at least 6 times! So I'm quite attached.

Still, I'm now in the market for more. I have great things planned for her (mainly involving a stay at Doug Rippie's shop in IN), but I too am curious abour turbos. Does anyone know of a shop that will still turbo L-98s? If so, does anyone know which would be best? What configuration? One thing I'd like to accomplish is to "stay GM" as much as possible. So, I'm curious about Buick turbos. I'm pretty sure no GNster would be that eager to let go of his parts, but I think Turbonetics makes OEM and aftermarket turbos for GNs. Does anyone know if these would work for my L-98? If they can rocket a Buick 1/4 mile in 10 seconds or less, a svelte Vette ought not to be a problem.

I'm listening. Thanks, all!

I would suggest doing a search in the archives for the topics you are looking for and if your questions aren't answered there start a new post in this section on what you are looking to find out. There was a post of someone with a GN motor in their vette, not to mention there are several members with callaways as well as custom turbos.

a pair of GN turbos would probably work ok and give you enough capacity for around 900 HP.

there was a gent that swapped a GN engine into a vette and went 9's. pretty cool project!! :jester

The gn turbo's would work, but with how cheap wastegated t3's go thru ebay, you should look into gettin a set of those. a pair in the 60 trim range would work fine. You or someone will have to fabricate the headers, intercooler plumbing and the whole nine, but let me tell you from experience - the end result kicks butt. http://www.my-wrx.com/wrx/pics/turbovette/index.php You don't have to get quite as advanced as I did, it can be done alot simpler and cheaper if your goals are sub 1000rwhp. If your not a DIY kind of guy, contact me. I have a full fabrication shop and as a starving engineering student (ex machinist), I could use the side work. Feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions.
