dedicated fuel system for NOS
anyone here running a dedicated fuel suppy for a wet Nitrous system. Was thinkng of doing this on my 93 using a 1 gallon Jr dragster cell where teh battery WAS. that way i could run 116 octane or methanol as the fuel enricment fo the system as an added safety measure, and allow me to run more spray without hurting anything
A friend of mine has a dedicated fuel system on his 66 skylark 455. He has the 1 gallon fuel cell, with a small holley fuel pump. He's not even running a fogger kit. He just said "If I"m gonna do it, I'm gonna do it as SAFE and as RELIABLE as possble." He's only running a 150hp plate kit right now, but he's stepping up to a 300hp 2-stage kit.
I think for a 100-150hp kit, you're fine with the stock system tapped into (maybe a better fuel pump though). If you start getting above a 150hp shot though, I would probably recommend upping to a dedicated system, it's just good insurance.

Re: dedicated fuel system for NOS (TIMSPEED)
well i have 11.5 static CR, 42lb injectors and the 255 in tank pump. But with no EASY way to pull timing on an LT-1 with out going into the Chip i'd like to have a little extra safety, besides i think a 300 shot would be fun
I run one...I've been running it for several years and IMO it's the ONLY way to do it right. I built a 1 gallon aluminum fuel cell and installed it where my battery once was. It uses a carburetor spec Holley 'Blue' fuel pump and -6 lines. It's a low pressure system so it's much easier to tune and there are more jets available. If you do an archive search you'll probably find where pics of it have been posted in the past... If not I'll email you some or someone else if they wanna stick 'em on here...I don't know how.
