I know this has been posted before, but I'm honnestly curious.
Does any one have a detailed web site explainning how to port the stock TPI Intake? what tools to use, what parts of the plennum and/or runners to port.
I'm currently doing a search on the forrum, but a web site with lots of details would be very cool. :)

. then go to techcentral at the top of the page then, go to engine fuel.</A> They show how to port the intake base.http://www.3gc.net. then go to articles and then engine and then TPI mods.."

I've done a lot of reading. If I'd really wanted to port my stock TPI Intake I would have to start from the bottom going up for any real HP increase. First porting the Intake base manifold then the runners, then the plenum.... or simply installing bigger runners or Siamese runners and porting them as well.
Does any one know aprox how much HP gain is expected from a ported Intake base manifold, bigger runners and ported plenum? any dyno sheets?
I don't have any dyno data specifically from these mods alone, but my guess would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20hp. With the addition of 24 lb injectors, an AFPR, 1.6 RRs, Accel base, AS&M runners and a ported plenum I gained 40 rwhp and 71 rwtq.
I dont know if you have a shop or you are an amature. But if you are somewhat of an amature like me send this work out! I did mine myself and after I was done with all the bits and tools and crap and time it took it would probally cost know more to just send out the intake and have it done nice and profesional
I ported my plenum, matched the throttle body to the plemum, added an air foil and port matched the plenum to the tubes. I got a good seat of the pants improvement! Probably around 10-12 hp at the upper end! I did the porting when I had to replace my EGR valve. If you ever get the chance to look inside the plenum you wil see that it has MAJOR room for improvement!
I purchased a set of simese runners and was going to port the base but sold the car before I was able to do the project. It didn't look to be very difficult to match the results of one of the high $$$ units that can be purchased from a number of places.
IMHO you would only see benifit at the mid RPM to upper end of the RPM band.
If you did some head and cam work the base, runner and plenum work would really come to light.
A stock motor will not have any major HP gains. Don't get me wrong. Any work in the intake area will show benifits but dont expect a lot from just the port job.
