Check Gauges
Every since I bought my 90,,,, the "check gauges" light right next to my speedometer........ Does anyone have a clue why?
low or high charge voltage, high coolant temp, low fuel are the primary triggers. However poor grounds can also be mistaken for a problem and the light comes on.

also when you hit below reserve on your gas tank it will come on.
Page 84- Owners Manual-
"If the CHECK GAUGES light comes on, look at the oil pressure, oil temperature, and coolant temperature gages to see which gage or gages are in the cross-hatched area. Then follow the instructions given in this manual for each page. "
For the MY 90, electrical output is not monitored by this circuit.
The fuel low signal for the 90 is monitored and displayed as "RESERVE" when fuel level reaches the last two bars. Not sure if it is supposed to flash. Maybe the fuel was sloshing around.
The CHECK GAUGES light will do a self test on start up, then go out. If the key is left on, engine off, the light should remain on due to no oil pressure.
Cars are a hoot.
