My '94 is low on clutch fluid. After searching through this site's archives, I think the best thing to do will be to bleed it and possibly replace the master and/or slave cylinders. My owner's manual recommends that I use GM's special clutch fluid (part #12345347) to prevent squeaking. This fluid is hard to come by locally, so I will have to order it. My question is how much should I order to ensure that I have an ample amount to bleed the clutch?
first, this is a hydrolic link. nothing will squeek by using the non-approved fluid.
Get Valvoline's Synpower brake fluid. The stuff ROCKS. It's all I use. And no squeeking.
get the quart bottle. It's cheap as hell (about $4.00 or so?). Great brake fluid, too!!!! :D
There should be no reason to replace the parts. They are good for quite some miles. Unless you have a leak...
How to "bleed" the clutch... it takes 2 people... get under, release the bleed screw, top off the fluid and pump it a few times. MAKE SURE NO AIR GETS IN!!!! and retop. if you are REAL good. You can put the jug right on the master and let it act like a water cooler. That's cool. Then just watch it come out until clear. Quite easy, really.
