That would be a neat test...only I think most of my tomorrow is going to be consumed trying to get just one car to run right, let alone two! If there was only more time left in the year for us to monkey around with it. Next spring will always be a viable option, and I'm sure Jeb would agree. But we have to get the most out of your setup, as is, to have an accurate comparison, or there would be too many variable to 100% contribute the intake switch alone to the gains. But comparing to a well balanced MR setup, would really let us know the potential of the setup. Next year for sure, I think we should do that!
I've been following this in the other thread, and think what you guys are doing is great. Your other intake was a Super Ram, right? So we'll see how an engine built around a Super Ram responds to the single plane? But this engine won't be ideal for the single plane. The ultimate potential won't be known until some engines are built for the single plane. Or am I missing something?
Yes and no....most engines are built around the heads, not the intake.....
However you intake/cam can be a major factor obviously in the way an engine performs.
With the runner length longer, the intake should be as others have pointed out, a good compromise between the SR and MR. Really at this point the only two intakes we have to choose from.
Initial "feel" of the intake is decent, but its tough to tell when the roads have cinders on them and your trying to seat of the pants something.
Off to the tack to find the real outcome!
the engine for the two are identicle for the builds the differences could i say could lay in rear gears if the new intake looses some down low the gears would make that up other than that it should be a preety good comparison if there is something gained or lost we can pinpoint the area post the results
