Well after a long fought battle I have it installed and started it up last night at about 11:30 PM. Got the base timing set and called it a night.
The install is crazy easy, when I say I fought it, on the prototype there were still some small issues that I will go over with Jeb, and they will be non-existant on the final version.
Right now I am VERY confident I could take the intake off, and put it back on in a matter of 40 minutes..maybe even quicker.
It is a VERY nice unit to work on. Can't speak for any performance gains as of yet. But I did crack the throttle a few times and it did seem to rev quicker than the did before. But maybe I was just happy to hear it run.
I will post some pictures, perhaps after lunch when I go home. Sorry for not reporting the last two nights, but Corky can vouch for me, I was diligently working on it the last two nights. Even this morning before work I went out and tinkered on a few of the incidentals that needed attention yet. Tonight I am going to take it out to the dealership, change all the fluids, and tune it to the best of my ability.
Keep your fingers crossed that there are no hitches!
The intake looks mean as heck on the car. Definately says its there for business. :yesnod: :reddevil
Great job. You and Jeb are to be congratulated on your cooperative adventure. I have been keeping up with the posts (other thread) since the single plane's inception and am looking forward to seeing the results. Man, this is a great project.
Doesn't really matter, down by the trees a little more room to manuever around and for us all to park.....and work on the cars if necessary. So lets meet down there.
We'll both be doing battle! I scored hookedup's old DR's and am blasting back in to the 11's somewhere. I don't want to jinx myself...but I want to do better than my previous 11.84.
Guys here are some pictures of the installed intake as promised:
That baby looks like all business trust me. :yesnod: :yesnod:
JD: Good luck with the slicks! Get on I-76, then i70 and come race with us!
Dave, see you there!
Well let me know what you think. Don't mind the rag stuffed in the valley, and the coolant. The gasket must have pinched or something and it was weeping out coolant. But rather than take 30 minutes to do that I ran it and some accumulated in there. Fixed that this morning before work. Curing as we speak, or should I say, "cured" as we speak.
What do you guys think of the look? I am going to suggest to Jeb, that he fly-cuts the box "panels" before welding them, and they will look SUPER sharp/shiney. Like the TB does! Then with the welds it will have the unlimate show look, not lets just hope it has the go also!
