I was thinking the same thing cam, heads, headers. I was just thinking about which one to get first. I also dont want to have to un/reinstall the intake alot I would do the heads and cam all in one shot so I only have to do it once.
Also If I did do heads or cam is there any thing that also needs to done mabey not required but highly recomended like lifters, pushrods
Well once you get the SR on you've roped yourself into pulling the intake at least one more time. :) For now I'd say headers and/or 1.6 rockers with emphisas on the headers before rockers.
If you do the cam you definitely should toss in a new set of lifters/pushrods while you're in there.
I know this is a stupid question and I think the answer will be NEVER but I'll ask it any way. Under what circumstance can you reuse a gasket.
This question make me sound so stupid I've been told never but when I read about some of you un/installing a SuperRam two times in a day I am like they dont keep extra gaskets laying around do they???
You have to block off the rear drivers side of the fuel rail. Thats where the fuel from the cold start injector comes from. I tucked the wires for the cold start inject between the runners to get them out of sight.
I think you can make some adjustments to your chip to compensate for sans cold start injector so it start quicker. Not neccesary however.
When eliminating the cold start do you have to have a new chip burned?
Like Chucks88 said you have to block off the fuel rail on the back of the driver's side. The superram base has no provisions for the injector so you don't have to worry about that side of things.
'87 has the ability to be tuned for cold starts, but it isn't setup in the chip from the factory for cold starts w/o the 9th injector. She needs some more fuel at cranking time w/o the 9th. It really isn't a big ordeal. I didn't change my chip for well over a year and it would just take a few more cranks to start when really cold.
