I don't use a "system". Just pulled out 3 degrees of timing on the top end with LT1 Edit. This for a 100hp TNT setup.
The dyno numbers didn't seem to care about the 36degree max timing (stock timing would show 39-40 degrees) when off the nitrous. The timing retard is just a little extra insurance.
Re: TIMING RETARD USING 100 SHOT anyone?? (fiberglasscoffin)
On my 93, ed wright fast chip, hotcam kit, TPIS LT headers, no cats, NX 100 wet shot, no timing retard is needed.
I should also add that the NX recommended fuel side jet caused it to run rich on nitrous. A wide band dyno run confirmed that. I went one size smaller on the fuel jet, got more HP. No problems with detonation (no knock retard on scan tool).
Good luck.
Keep in mind if you do run timing retard, MSD's digital 6 plus is garbage. I went through 3 of them.

Dizwiz - Finally someone to confirm my problems with MSD and answer the retard question. Thanks for the post. Looks like my nick name of NoNos will change to Mr. Nos. I took off the MSD crap and now trying to decide to run without retard. I did add a new high powered Accel Coil.
Sounds like I am good to go.
Thanks again for your input. :seeya
