The motor for my power driver's seat ('94 standard, not sport) sounds like it has a gear slipping. The seat moves just fine if there isn't any weight on it but needs help while I'm seated.
Question:
Is the motor a repairable item or a replacement item? Is it even the motor or the track?
When mine failed the same way I started taking things apart. Here's what I found. - The gears in the riveted aluminum gearbox/housing are starting to strip and/or the plastic spacers that hold the gears in the correct alignment are cracked.
I got a hold of a couple of these mechanisms, hoping to scrounge enough parts to rebiuld one good one, but thay were all broken in the same way. Basically it's a marginal design. Ultimately I bought a good used power seat track from a forum member. In order to delay the inevitable breakage, I no longer move the seat with my weight on it.
I assumed there wasn't a repair when I only found the complete track mechanism in the catalogs. As little as my car has been driven, I was surprised this needed repair. It sounds like a weak design from what you've said but I don't ever remember anyone else talking about this part. Maybe we're just unlucky. I just like to keep every part of my car in perfect working condition.
