'85 front y-pipe double wall?
Does anyone know if my front y-pipe is double wall? I have an exhaust rattle that defies being found. The only thing left is either the cat is falling apart internally or the front y-pipe is doing the same. Thanks.

My '85 Vette GM Shop Manual shows the pipe but it doesn't look like it's double-wall.
A rattle from that area could be the cat, the heat shield, the Y-pipe retainers, etc.

My 85 had a double wall front Y pipe. It had some cracks in the inner wall just below where it connect to the exhaust manifolds. This did not cause any rattles though. I replaced it when I installed headers. I know if the cat core starts to break up it can sound like a can full of rocks rattling around under the car.
