Yep, I've had it back for all of four days since the motor was installed, and out of the blue now it want start.I'am thinking maybe its the vats system or ignition, it has power I jack it up checked the wires running from the battery to the starter, checked to make sure it was in park , I tried it in neutral it just will not start!! :mad I had my a/c serviced ,but it will not give any heat, why it my outside temp reading staying stuck at 50 degrees??? Sorry about the lenght of the post , just a little upset about only putting 300 miles on it ,and now this. :nopity
Duh!! :banghead: on my part I totally forgot how the system works, althought you think I would remember being that I've had the car for over ten years. Well I've thrown in the towel at this point , I'am just waiting for the wrecker to come , and pick it up. :U
I turn the key ,and nothing happens with the starter period(it the starter has less than 3000 miles on it I never got to break in miles on my old motor when it was new). Well it was just picked up by the wrecker on ots way back to the Corvette shop ,I know that car has to be sick of those wonderful wrecker rides! I know my wallet sure is :mad
Lock the car, use the door key in both doors to unlock it. This will sometimes work (it resets the VATS). Try it a few times with a few different options. Mine has done that a time or two and doing that generally works.
Mine does the same thing about every three months, you can damn near set the calender to it, and yesterday wa one of those days. I get full power to everything, but turn the key and nothing, no starter response at all. If I let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, she fires up just fine. A buddy said that sometimes the starter gets too hot and won't engage until it cools down a li'l, but why doesn't it happen more often? I've tried the key thing for the VATS, and that hasn't helped me at all. If your shop can tell you anything about it, a relay of the info would be greatly appreciated so in three months when it does it again, I might have some sort of idea of where to start to correct the problem.
Well guys my promblem was that there was some broke connections inside of the starter that they were able to fix in the shop by resoildering it.Which was a lot cheaper than replacing it again  .Also it was the sending unit that was disconnected that was why I was'nt getting an outside temp reading.
