If it's like my '88 the connector to that grn wire comming out of the switch is burried behind, below and to the left of the dist with a 2" pigtail comming out of the large harness that runs across the top of the bell housing.
When I had the base off with dist out I spliced in a section of grn wire to bring that connector up to the right of the dist for easy access.
Otherwise replacing the EGR temp. switch would have been a 5min job.
