Hey guys... well, I used to live in this section when i had my 91 with the nitrous and supercharger (never got to install the supercharger...) ... Well Im back for some advice on the new car.....
Im going to be switchin my Wet N.O.S. system over to my 96 LT4. I am going to be running a 100hp shot (dont want to see this one go). I have the MSD Digital 6+ installed already, I was just wondering If I should pulling some timing out. I know nitrous loves high compression, but I dont need it detonating on me....
I will have the scanner and all hooked up and find out if Im getting any knock counts and get it on the dyno, but just wondering If anyone has any particular expericance with this...
Re: [NITROUS] Should I pull timing on my LT4..... (StealDads67)
If you have stock PCM I would say no.
I had a Ed Wright prgram for 3 years and had a lot of problems with knock.
Now I use LT1 edit
I would run it on a dyno to check your AF ratio. I think that makes it much safer.
I have the hot cam in my car but made 430rwhp with a 100 shot and ran a 11.77 @117.7 with stock LT1 heads
Re: [NITROUS] Should I pull timing on my LT4..... (tcal95z1)
tcal95 you have the same setup as I have. Using 100 NX shot. Making 448 rwhp 520 rwtq. Have Hot Cam, and stock heads also. No need to pull timing and no knock as long as AF is 12.5. Using LT1 Edit. to set all fuel ratios and timing. Mine is making 363 rwhp on motor at 6200 rpm and had not peaked out at 6200. Enjoy the juice.
