Coil Question
Well my coil went down on me this morning. This is the 3rd one in 3 years. They say that the MSD 6s will do numbers on coils. The stock one, a Hypertech and an MSD coil have fallen victims to the mighty MSD. Is MSD the best coil I can buy for my 94? The last one did last longer than the rest, about 2 years. Help :confused:

MSD sells a replacement button for the carbon one in the cap. The higher current pulses from the MSD ignition fries the stock button and if it goes open circuit it will make the coil break down internally. Always use the MSD coil with the MSD ignition and the MSD button!!! The MSD ignition is pulsing the coil primary with a capacitor charged to 540 volts. This pulse is very hard on ignition coils and is the reason why the coil only lasts 2 years. That is the price you pay for higher energy ignition.
